Accessibility

Many of the people who use this site are older, or using a phone or computer they find hard going. We want every page to work for you, whatever you use to read it.

What we aim for

We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. These are the international standard for making websites usable by people with disabilities.

What you can do on this site

  • Use it with only a keyboard. Press Tab to move through links and buttons, and a clear outline shows where you are. The first Tab offers a link that skips straight past the menu.
  • Use a screen reader. Every form field has a label, and the IMEI box reads out whether the number you typed looks right.
  • Make the text bigger. Zoom in with your browser or your phone’s settings and the page rearranges itself, with nothing cut off.
  • Turn off movement. If your device is set to reduce motion, the small fade-in effects on our pages switch off.
  • Read the site in English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese or Turkish. Our legal pages are in English only for now.

What we know still needs work

We check our own pages, but no outside expert has tested the site yet. Two parts we don’t fully control:

  • The card payment box comes from Stripe, our payment provider. It’s built to work with screen readers, but we can’t change how it behaves.
  • Some order steps ask you to upload a photo of a receipt or ID. If that’s hard for you, write to us and we’ll find another way.

Tell us when something gets in your way

If any part of this site is hard to use, or you need something in a different format, email support@accessmyphone.com or use our contact page. Tell us the page and what went wrong, and we aim to reply within five working days.

If you’re not happy with our reply

In England, Scotland and Wales you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service. In Northern Ireland, contact the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland.
